COUNSELORS

Counselors are the pulse of ETX Connection camp! You will begin leading your small groups at the camp in August and continue to aid them through the fall semester. With such an incredible opportunity to show the love of Jesus and Christian community to these students, our counselors are held to a high standard and are required to attend training.

REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY

  • You will need to be present in the Tyler area next fall.

  • Be investing in a local church and be a part of a Bible study based small group.

  • Agree to ETX Connection’s statement of beliefs and adhere to the staff behavioral contract.

  • Pay staff dues $45 (scholarships are available). Dues cover training meals and activities, camp, T-shirt, etc.

Connecting with your small group

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a group of 8-10 students.

  • Build unity among your fellow counselors.

  • Create an environment where students can connect and feel included.

  • Facilitate small group discussion and interaction at camp for your small group.

  • Give guidance and support as students transition into college.

  • Follow up with your group of incoming students during their first semester: Meet for lunch, coffee or sporting events. Visit churches and Christian organization events together.

  • Model church connectivity and service as it flows from your example of living for the Lord in college.
